In Texas, an Occupational Driver’s License (ODL) is a special license issued to residents in order to operate a motor vehicle on public roads in the event their regular driver’s license is revoked or suspended. It allows one to drive to work, educational institutions, and for “essential household duties.” This license can be used for up to four hours/day and does not apply to commercial driving or commercial vehicles.
WHY AN ATTORNEY IS IMPORTANT FOR OBTAINING AN ODL
The attorneys at The Beltz Law Firm frequently practice law within the court systems in Dallas County and know many of the nuances of these courts. This first-hand knowledge comes at a tremendous advantage for clients who are seeking an ODL and need representation for other traffic ticket matters.
Self-representation may not be a good option for some when seeking an ODL as there are steps that need to be taken to ensure things are done correctly and all paperwork is processed properly. Our attorneys will assist clients in all aspects of obtaining an ODL and take the stress out of the entire process.
Please remember that it is illegal to drive on Texas roads without a valid driver’s license. Therefore, if your license has been revoked or suspended and you get behind the wheel, you run the risk of arrest and also further complicating your license revocation issues.
An ODL is a good option because it can help bridge the gap of time during the license suspension so as to not disrupt your ability to earn a living and provide for yourself or your family.
We will assist you from beginning to end in obtaining an ODL and help get your life back on track.
